Dena Sokolow counsels and represents employers and management on a wide range of labor and employment matters. Her litigation experience includes class actions, single and multiple plaintiff lawsuits, arbitrations and administrative proceedings involving employment discrimination and harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and common law claims. She has handled virtually every type of discrimination case at either the federal, state or agency level, including sexual harassment, race, sex, pregnancy, disability, religion, age, national origin and retaliation. Dena has practiced in Florida, Georgia and Alabama and represented clients ranging from start-up to Fortune 100 companies.
In addition, Dena counsels employers on a broad spectrum of employment-related topics such as employee discipline and termination, internal complaints and investigations, separation agreements, severance plans, issues involving employee leaves of absence and absenteeism, and employment applications, policies and handbooks. Dena also creates and conducts customized interactive training programs on a wide range of employment law topics, including harassment prevention, conducting investigations, interviewing and hiring practices, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act and performance management and documentation practices.
Dena graduated with honors from Florida State University College of Law in 1994 and continued her legal education by earning a masters degree in Labor and Employment Law with Distinction from Georgetown University Law Center in 1995.
